My First Time Showing My Artwork

Alexis Pellek stands next to two of her artworks that are hanging in the East Brunswick Public Library for the month of June 2025

I’m happy to share that today I have reached a goal that I’ve had for a long time: my artwork is hanging out in public for the world to see! It’s been a long time coming.

About two years ago, I timidly started telling people that I “kind of” do some photography, poetry, and art stuff. I’m so thankful that they encouraged me to share my work, as I was feeling self-conscious and judgmental of it. But at the same time, I dreamed of sharing it – I just had to get over my fears. I talked to more people and joined two artist groups, where I shared and grew more confident. And today, here we are!

Thank you to the East Brunswick Public Library in NJ for hosting our show, created by members of the Suburban Artists Guild of Middlesex County (yes, that technically makes me a SAG member🤣). Our show will run for the whole month of June!

Huge thanks to everyone who encouraged, inspired, and supported me! This day couldn’t have happened without you 💝

And if I could, I encourage you to share a part of your creativity that you may feel shy about showing. It feels great to let it out into the world, and people are going to love it.
